The Hankyu Braves of the Japan Pacific League ended the 1977 season with a record of 69 wins and 51 losses, finishing first in the JPPL.

The Braves topped the circuit with 569 runs, sparked by 147 home runs. Hankyu yielded 475 runs. Kinji Shimatani paced the team with 22 home runs, while Robert Marcano, Bernie Williams, Yutaka Fukumoto and Hideji Kato each walloped 15 or more also. Kinji Shimatani accounted for 74 RBI and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster with a .325 average. Mitsuo Inaba led the squad with 17 wins, and Hisashi Yamada also added 15 or more wins also Hisashi Yamada registered a 2.29 earned run average, leading regular hurlers.

Bernie Williams played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Hankyu Braves to do so.

Toshiharu Ueda served as manager.
