The Greenville Rangers of the Western Carolinas League ended the 1972 season with a record of 71 wins and 57 losses, finishing second in the WCL.

The Rangers plated 636 runs and allowed 611 runs. Ken Caldwell paced Greenville with 19 home runs and drove in 107 runs, while leading hitters with significant playing time by connecting at a .337 clip. Edwin Layman topped the squad with 13 wins, and James Owen recorded a 3.14 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.

Jeff Terpko played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Greenville Rangers to do so.

Rich Donnelly served as manager.
