The Daiei Hawks scored 492 runs and allowed 580 runs, most in the circuit. Hiroki Kokubo led Fukuoka with 28 home runs, and Koji Akiyama walloped 15 or more, too. Hiroki Kokubo drove in 76 runs and topped all regular hitters by connecting at a .286 clip. Kimiyasu Kudo paced the squad with 12 wins and a team-best 3.64 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
