The Pioneers scored 483 runs, worst in the league, and allowed 611 runs. Tommy Smith led Elmira with 14 home runs and drove in 68 runs. Ken Huebner paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .307. Ed Assaf topped the squad with 11 wins and a team-best 3.77 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Jim York, Scott Northey, Jim Weaver, Keith Marshall, Juan Ríos, Ike Brookens and Jim Campanis were all players from the 1970 Elmira Pioneers who played in the Majors during their careers.
