The Danville Warriors of the Midwest League ended the 1971 season with a record of 65 wins and 56 losses, finishing third in the league's South Division.

The Warriors plated 626 runs and allowed 492 runs. Gorman Thomas walloped 31 home runs for Danville, while Darrell Porter and Dave Lindsey swatted 15 or more, too. Gorman Thomas drove in 83 runs.
