The Douglas Trojans of the Georgia State League ended the 1954 season with a record of 85 wins and 45 losses, finishing second in the GSL.
The Trojans led the league with 954 runs, ignited by 105 home runs. Douglas allowed 641 runs. Van Davis walloped 31 home runs for the team, while James Robinette and Buddy Gilbert swatted 15 or more, too. Van Davis recorded 135 runs batted in. Jack Bossard paced all regular hitters by hitting .360. Theodore Rustin topped the squad with 20 wins, plus Bill Green, too added 15 or more wins, too Bill Green recorded a 2.37 ERA, tops among regular hurlers.
Buddy Gilbert played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Douglas Trojans to do so.
