The Dothan Rebels of the Alabama-Florida League ended the 1953 season with a record of 59 wins and 58 losses, finishing third in the AAL.

The Rebels scored 710 runs and conceded 707 runs. Marvin Sheridan and Ray Wilson led all regular hitters with a .323 average. Spencer Davis topped Dothan with 22 wins and a team-best 1.21 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Tom Patton played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Dothan Rebels to do so.

Ray Wilson served as manager.
