The Durham Bulls of the Carolina League ended the 1963 season with a record of 78 wins and 65 losses, finishing second in the league's West Division.

The Bulls scored 715 runs and allowed 680 runs. Walt Matthews walloped 30 home runs for Durham, while Roy Hartless, Tommy Murray and Bob Rikard each swatted 15 or more, too. Tommy Murray drove in 102 runs. Walt Matthews led all regular batters with a .283 average. Darrell Brandon and James Holbrook topped the team with 14 wins each, and Darrell Brandon registered a 3.26 earned run average, tops among hurlers with significant time on the mound.
