The Marines plated 456 runs, worst in the league, and yielded 525 runs. Kiyoshi Hatsushiba paced Chiba Lotte with 17 home runs, and Koichi Hori walloped 15 or more, too. Koichi Hori drove in 68 runs and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .312 clip. Eric Hillman led the team with 14 wins, while Hideki Irabu and Eric Hillman earned a 2.41 ERA, tops among qualifying pitchers.

Jack Daugherty, Darrell Whitmore, Eric Hillman, Satoru Komiyama, Hideki Irabu, Wes Chamberlain, Yasuhiko Yabuta and Randy Ready were all players from the 1996 Chiba Lotte Marines who played in the Majors during their careers.
