The Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League ended the 2008 season with a record of 72 wins and 66 losses, finishing fourth in the league's Western Division.

The Kernels scored 602 runs and gave up 559 runs. Jeremy Moore led Cedar Rapids with 17 home runs, and Julio Perez walloped 15 or more, too. Julio Perez drove in 75 runs and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster with a .267 average. Trevor Reckling and Robert Fish paced the squad with 10 wins each, while Trevor Reckling registered a 3.37 earned run average, best among regular hurlers.
