The Dragons topped the circuit with 549 runs. Chunichi surrendered 483 runs. Hiromitsu Ochiai walloped 32 home runs for the squad, while Toshikatsu Hikono, Gary Rajsich and Masaru Uno each swatted 15 or more also. Hiromitsu Ochiai accounted for 95 RBI. Gary Rajsich and Hiromitsu Ochiai led batters with significant playing time by hitting .293. Kazuyuki Ono paced the team with 18 wins, and Genji Kaku recorded a 1.95 ERA, leading regular hurlers.
Gary Rajsich played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Chunichi Dragons to do so.
