The Columbus Catfish of the South Atlantic League ended the 2005 season with a record of 57 wins and 79 losses, finishing eighth in the league's South Division.

The Catfish scored 623 runs and conceded 667 runs. Travis Denker led Columbus with 21 home runs and drove in 68 runs. Blake DeWitt paced all regular hitters by hitting .283. Blake Johnson and Chris Malone topped the team with 9 wins each, while Scott Elbert recorded a 2.66 ERA, best among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.

Lucas May, Jamie Hoffmann, Javy Guerra, Ramón Troncoso, Wesley Wright, Travis Denker, Blake DeWitt, Cory Wade and Scott Elbert were all players from the 2005 Columbus Catfish who played in the Major Leagues during their careers.
