The Charleston Charlies of the International League ended the 1973 season with a record of 85 wins and 60 losses, finishing first in the league's South Division.

The Charlies scored 645 runs and allowed 560 runs. Tony Solaita paced Charleston with 23 home runs, while Jim Campanis and Chuck Howard walloped 15 or more as well. Chuck Howard drove in 79 runs. Tony Solaita led all regular batters by connecting at a .288 clip. Chris Zachary topped the team with 14 wins, and John Morlan recorded a 2.09 ERA, tops among pitchers with enough qualifying appearances.
