The Bend Rainbows of the Northwest League ended the 1971 season with a record of 42 wins and 36 losses, finishing first in the league's South Division.

The Rainbows scored 473 runs and gave up 399 runs. Terry Thompson led Bend with 14 home runs and accounted for 77 RBI. Allan Wise paced hitters with significant playing time with a .358 average. Keith Shetler topped the squad with 10 wins, while Gerald Lewis recorded a 2.69 ERA, best among hurlers with significant time on the mound.

Chuck Hockenbery played in Major League Baseball during his career, the only member of the Bend Rainbows to do so.

Ed Cecil and Tom Trebelhorn served as manager.
