The Buffalo Bisons of the Eastern League ended the 1983 season with a record of 74 wins and 65 losses, finishing third in the EL.

The Bisons scored 710 runs and yielded 625 runs. Shanie Dugas led Buffalo with 28 home runs, while Jim Wilson, Kelly Gruber and Tim Glass each walloped 15 or more as well. Jim Wilson drove in 105 runs. Dave Gallagher paced all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .338. Robin Fuson and Steve Farr topped the squad with 13 wins each, and Steve Farr recorded a 1.61 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
