The Bakersfield Blaze of the California League ended the 2009 season with a record of 75 wins and 65 losses, finishing third in the league's North Division.

The Blaze scored 712 runs and surrendered 694 runs. Mauro Gómez led Bakersfield with 28 home runs, while Mike Bianucci, Ian Gac and Jonathan Greene each walloped 15 or more, too. Mauro Gómez drove in 94 runs. Matt Lawson paced all regular batters by connecting at a .293 clip. Tanner Roark and Tim Murphy topped the squad with 10 wins each, and Richard Bleier registered a 4.53 earned run average, best among regular hurlers.
