The Avalanche netted 236 goals and conceded 198. Milan Hejduk scored 35 goals for Colorado, and Joe Sakic tallied 30 or more as well. Joe Sakic and Alex Tanguay each accounted for 54 assists. David Aebischer earned 32 wins in front of the net for the squad and a team-best 2.09 goals against average, topping goaltenders with enough qualifying appearances.

Tony Granato coached the team. The 2003-04 Colorado Avalanche lost in the NHL conference semi-finals.
