The Islanders scored 385 goals and allowed 250. Mike Bossy netted 64 goals for New York, while Bryan Trottier, Clark Gillies and John Tonelli each tallied 30 or more also. Mike Bossy contributed 83 assists. Billy Smith earned 32 wins in front of the net for the squad, and Roland Melanson added 15 or more victories also. Billy Smith recorded a 2.97 goals against average, topping goaltenders with enough qualifying appearances.
