The Islanders scored 334 goals and allowed 210. Mike Bossy netted 53 goals for New York, while Bob Bourne, Bob Nystrom, Clark Gillies, Denis Potvin and Bryan Trottier each tallied 30 or more, too. Bryan Trottier accounted for 77 assists. Glenn Resch earned 28 wins in front of the net for the squad, plus Billy Smith added 15 or more wins, too. Glenn Resch recorded a 2.55 goals against average, topping goaltenders with enough qualifying appearances.
