The defense proved to be a force, as the Argonauts paced the circuit with just 328 points allowed. Toronto scored 452 points. Condredge Holloway tossed for 2,230 yards, and J.C. Watts took a significant amount of snaps, too. Chris Woods paced the receiving corps, snagging 61 passes for 1,163 yards, while Paul Pearson was targeted regularly also.

Craig Ellis carried the ball for a team-best 381 yards.

Carl Brazley and Kerry Parker each seized 6 opponent throws. Rodney Harding topped the defensive unit with 10 quarterback sacks.

Bob O'Billovich coached the team. The 1986 Toronto Argonauts lost in the Division Final.
