The Barcelona Dragons of the World League of American Football ended the 1997 season with a record of 5 wins and 5 losses, finishing second in the WLAF.
Barcelona moved the ball well, scoring 236 points, while the shaky defensive squad gave up 209, most in the circuit. Jon Kitna threw for 2,448 yards. Tyree Davis snagged 43 passes for 738 yards. Bryce Burnett, Alfonzo Browning and Sheddrick Wilson each were targeted regularly, too.
Terry Wilburn carried the pigskin for a team-best 429 yards for the Dragons, and Jon Kitna additionally aided the ground game.
Carlos Brooks intercepted 6 opponent throws. La'Roi Glover sacked quarterbacks 6.5 times, part of an overall team total of 33 sacks.
Jack Bicknell coached the team. The 1997 Barcelona Dragons won the Championship.
