The Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League ended the 1984 season with a record of 13 wins and 5 losses, finishing first in the USFL's West Division of the Western Conference.
Offensively, Houston paced the circuit with 618 points. On the other side of the ball, the defensive unit allowed 400 points. Jim Kelly led the charge, passing for 5,219 yards. Richard Johnson snagged 115 passes for 1,455 yards. Ricky Sanders provided receiving help, too.
Todd Fowler ran for a team-best 1,003 yards for the Gamblers.
Will Lewis picked off 8 opponent throws. Pete Catan topped the defensive unit with 16 quarterback sacks, leading the way for a team which created 62 sacks.
Jack Pardee coached the team. The 1984 Houston Gamblers lost in the Quarterfinal.
