The defense proved to be a force, as the Steelers paced the circuit with just 138 points allowed. Pittsburgh piled up points with 342 points. Franco Harris carried the ball for a team-best 1,128 yards, and Rocky Bleier also aided the ground game.
Terry Bradshaw threw for 1,177 yards. Lynn Swann paced the receiving corps, grabbing 28 passes for 516 yards. Rocky Bleier was targeted regularly, too.
The sticky-fingered defense led the way with 46 turnovers. Glen Edwards and Mel Blount each snatched 6 opponent throws.
