The New Orleans Saints of the National Football League ended the 1991 season with a record of 11 wins and 5 losses, finishing first in the NFL's West Division of the National Football Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 0-1.
The defense proved to be a force, as the Saints led the league with just 211 points allowed. New Orleans scored 341 points. Bobby Hebert threw for 1,676 yards, and Steve Walsh played quarterback, too. Eric Martin topped pass catchers, grabbing 66 passes, while Floyd Turner added 927 receiving yards.
Fred McAfee carried the ball for a team-leading 494 yards, while Gill Fenerty also contributed to the rushing attack.
The larcenous defense led the way with 48 turnovers, topping in the league. Vince Buck and Gene Atkins each snatched 5 opponent throws. Pat Swilling paced the defensive unit with 17 quarterback sacks, leading the way for a team which created 50 sacks.
Jim Mora coached the team. The 1991 New Orleans Saints lost in the Wild Card.
