The defense proved to be a force, as the Vikings topped the league with just 143 points allowed. Minnesota moved the ball well, scoring 335 points. Gary Cuozzo tossed for 1,720 yards. Gene Washington snagged 44 passes for 702 yards, while John Henderson was targeted regularly also.
Dave Osborn carried the pigskin for a team-best 681 yards.
The opportunistic defense led the way with 44 turnovers, topping in the league. Ed Sharockman intercepted 7 opponent throws.
Bud Grant coached the team. The 1970 Minnesota Vikings lost in the Division Playoff.
