The Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League ended the 2003 season with a record of 13 wins and 3 losses, finishing first in the NFL's West Division of the American Football Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 0-1.
Offensively, Kansas City led the league with 484 points. At the same time, the defense allowed 332 points. Trent Green led the charge, slinging for 4,039 yards. Priest Holmes topped pass catchers, grabbing 74 passes, while Tony Gonzalez added 916 receiving yards. Eddie Kennison and Johnnie Morton were targeted regularly, too.
Priest Holmes carried the ball for a team-leading 1,420 yards for the Chiefs.
The sticky-fingered defense created 37 turnovers. Greg Wesley and Dexter McCleon each picked off 6 opponent throws. Vonnie Holliday paced the defensive unit with 5.5 sacks.
Dick Vermeil coached the team. The 2003 Kansas City Chiefs lost in the Division Playoff.
