The Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League ended the 1969 season with a record of 11 wins and 3 losses, finishing second in the AFL's West Division. The team compiled a postseason mark of 3-0.
Defensively, the Chiefs conceded 177 points, the lowest total in the circuit. Kansas City moved the ball well, scoring 359 points. Mike Garrett carried the pigskin for a team-leading 732 yards, while Robert Holmes also buoyed the ground attack.
Len Dawson passed for 1,323 yards, and Mike Livingston spent time under center also. Mike Garrett grabbed 43 passes, while Otis Taylor added 696 receiving yards.
The sticky-fingered defense created 47 turnovers, best in the league. Emmitt Thomas intercepted 9 opponent throws.
