Detroit moved the ball well, scoring 474 points, while the defensive squad conceded 387. Matthew Stafford directed the offense, throwing for 5,038 yards. Calvin Johnson topped the receiving corps, hauling in 96 balls for 1,681 yards. Brandon Pettigrew and Nate Burleson were targeted regularly as well.
Jahvid Best rushed for a team-leading 390 yards for the Lions, while Maurice Morris and Kevin Smith also buoyed the ground attack.
The opportunistic defense pounced on 34 turnovers. Chris Houston intercepted 5 opponent throws. Cliff Avril led the defensive unit with 11 quarterback sacks, leading the way for a team which created 41 sacks.
