Saskatchewan stumbled, scoring only 382 points, while the leaky defense conceded 517, most in the circuit. Joe Paopao threw for 2,647 yards, and Bernard Quarles played quarterback also. Ray Elgaard led the receiving corps, hauling in 55 receptions for 1,003 yards. Tony Dennis, Bobby Johnson and Daric Zeno each were targeted regularly, too.
Bobby Johnson ran for a team-high 869 yards for the Roughriders.
Trent Bryant picked off 6 errant tosses from the opposition. Gary Lewis sacked opposing passers 9 times.
