The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League ended the 1956 season with a record of 10 wins and 6 losses for 20 points, finishing second in the CFL's Western Interprovincial Football Union. The team compiled a postseason mark of 2-3.
The Roughriders scored 353 points, and the defensive squad allowed 272. Frank Tripucka led the charge, passing for 3,274 yards. Ken Carpenter led pass catchers, hauling in 43 receptions for 784 yards, while Harry Lampman contributed to the receiving game, too.
Ken Carpenter ran for a team-high 727 yards for Saskatchewan, and Bobby Marlow also aided the ground game.
Harry Lunn picked off 6 errant tosses from the opposition.
Frank Filchock coached the team. The 1956 Saskatchewan Roughriders lost in the Final.
