The opportunistic defense pounced on 44 turnovers. Ray Buchanan picked off 7 errant tosses from the opposition. Lester Archambeau topped the defensive unit with 10 quarterback sacks.

Dan Reeves coached the team. The 1998 Atlanta Falcons lost in the Super Bowl.
