The defense proved to be a force, as the Rough Riders led the league with just 261 points allowed. Ottawa moved the ball well, scoring 395 points. Tom Clements tossed for 1,990 yards, and Condredge Holloway took a significant amount of snaps as well. Tony Gabriel grabbed 67 receptions for 1,070 yards, while Mike Murphy was targeted regularly, too.
Richard Holmes carried the pigskin for a team-high 607 yards, and Mike Murphy also aided the ground game.
The sticky-fingered defense manufactured 56 turnovers, topping in the league. Kenny Downing intercepted 7 opponent throws.
