The Seattle Supersonics of the National Basketball Association ended the 1986-87 season with a record of 39 wins and 43 losses, finishing fourth in the NBA's Pacific Division of the Western Conference. The team compiled a postseason mark of 7-7.

Seattle tossed in 9,325 points and conceded 9,287. Dale Ellis scored a team-high 2,041 points for the Supersonics, while Tom Chambers and Xavier McDaniel netted 18 or more per game, too. Alton Lister and Xavier McDaniel each contributed 705 rebounds. Nate McMillan dished out 583 assists for the squad.

On the defensive side of the ball, Nate McMillan added 125 steals, and Alton Lister blocked 180 shots.

Bernie Bickerstaff coached the team. The 1986-87 Seattle Supersonics lost in the conference finals.
