The Washington Senators of the American League ended the 1970 season with a record of 70 wins and 92 losses, finishing sixth in the AL's East Division.
The Senators plated 626 runs and gave up 689 runs. Frank Howard walloped 44 home runs for Washington, while Mike Epstein, Rick Reichardt and Aurelio Rodriguez each swatted 20 or more, too. Frank Howard drove in 126 runs and topped all qualifying hitters on the roster by connecting at a .283 clip. Dick Bosman led the team with 16 wins and a team-best 3.00 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.
