The Washington Nationals of the National League ended the 2016 season with a record of 95 wins and 67 losses, finishing first in the NL's East Division.

The Nationals scored 763 runs and allowed 612 runs. Daniel Murphy led Washington with 25 home runs, while Danny Espinosa, Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman, Wilson Ramos and Anthony Rendon each walloped 20 or more, too. Daniel Murphy drove in 104 runs and topped all regular batters with a .347 average. Max Scherzer paced the squad with 20 wins, and Stephen Strasburg and Tanner Roark added 15 or more wins also Tanner Roark recorded a 2.83 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.

Dusty Baker and Chris Speier coached the team. The 2016 Washington Nationals qualified for the playoffs as a division winner.
