The Cardinals scored 810 runs and allowed 782 runs. Mark McGwire crushed 70 homers for St. Louis, while Ray Lankford, Ron Gant and Brian Jordan each walloped 20 or more as well. Mark McGwire drove in 147 runs. Brian Jordan led all regular hitters by connecting at a .316 clip. Kent Mercker topped the squad with 11 wins, and Todd Stottlemyre registered a 3.51 earned run average, best among regularly-used pitchers.
