The Athletics paced the league with just 615 runs allowed. Philadelphia scored 901 runs. Al Simmons walloped 34 home runs for the squad, while Jimmie Foxx and Mule Haas swatted 20 or more also. Al Simmons drove in 157 runs and topped all regular hitters with a .365 average. George Earnshaw recorded 24 wins on the mound for the team, and Lefty Grove and Rube Walberg added 15 or more victories as well Lefty Grove recorded a 2.81 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
Connie Mack coached the team. The 1929 Philadelphia Athletics won the World Series.
