The Yankees led the circuit with 817 runs, spearheaded by 199 home runs. New York allowed 680 runs. Roger Maris walloped 33 home runs for the team, while Bill Skowron, Clete Boyer, Tom Tresh, Elston Howard and Mickey Mantle each swatted 20 or more as well. Roger Maris drove in 100 runs. Bobby Richardson paced batters with significant playing time by hitting .302. Ralph Terry earned 23 wins on the mound for the squad, plus Whitey Ford added 15 or more wins, too Whitey Ford recorded a 2.90 ERA, leading regularly-used pitchers.
