The Yankees scored 762 runs and gave up 569 runs. Mickey Mantle walloped 37 home runs for New York, while Hank Bauer, Yogi Berra and Eddie Robinson each added 20 or more, too. Yogi Berra drove in 108 runs. Mickey Mantle led all qualifying hitters on the roster by hitting .306. Whitey Ford topped the team with 18 wins, and Bob Turley and Tommy Byrne also contributed 15 or more victories also Whitey Ford recorded a 2.63 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
