The Tigers scored 683 runs and conceded 587 runs. Al Kaline led Detroit with 25 home runs, while Bill Freehan, Willie Horton, Dick McAuliffe and Norm Cash each walloped 20 or more also. Al Kaline recorded 78 runs batted in and topped all regular hitters by hitting .308. Earl Wilson paced the squad with 22 wins, and Denny McLain and Joe Sparma also added 15 or more victories also Mickey Lolich recorded a 3.04 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
