The Tigers topped the league with 666 runs, spearheaded by 19 home runs. Detroit surrendered 493 runs. Ty Cobb recorded 107 runs batted in and topped all regular batters by hitting .377. George Mullin notched 29 wins on the mound for the team, while Ed Willett and Ed Summers added 15 or more victories also Ed Killian recorded a 1.71 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.
Hughie Jennings coached the team. The 1909 Detroit Tigers won the League Championship Series.
