The Cubs scored 831 runs and allowed 792 runs. Sammy Sosa crushed 66 homers for Chicago, while Jose Hernandez, Henry Rodriguez and Mark Grace each walloped 20 or more also. Sammy Sosa drove in 158 runs. Mark Grace led all regular batters with a .309 average. Kevin Tapani topped the team with 19 wins, and Steve Trachsel added 15 or more wins also Kerry Wood recorded a 3.40 ERA, best among regularly-used pitchers.
