The Twins led the league with 774 runs. Minnesota allowed 600 runs. Harmon Killebrew paced the squad with 25 home runs, while Bob Allison, Zoilo Versalles, Jimmie Hall, Don Mincher and Tony Oliva each walloped 20 or more as well. Tony Oliva drove in 98 runs and topped hitters with significant playing time by hitting .321. Mudcat Grant paced the squad with 21 wins, and Jim Kaat added 15 or more victories as well Jim Perry earned a 2.63 ERA, tops among regularly-used pitchers.

Sam Mele coached the team. The 1965 Minnesota Twins won the League Championship Series.
